GPSC AE Educational Qualification 2026
Aspiring Candidates are requested to fulfil these Educational Qualifications:
(b) (i) have about three years of experience in the field of administration in Government/Local Bodies/Government undertaking/Board/Corporation on a post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of the Office Superintendent, in the Sports Authority of Gujarat; or (ii) Participation at a recognized international level sporting competition in the identified sports discipline of the Olympics; Recognized international level sporting competition means (i) Olympic Games recognized by International Olympic Association or, (ii) Asian Games organized by Asian Games Councilor; (iii) Commonwealth Games organized by the Commonwealth Games Federation or (iv) World Cup/World Championship organized by recognized International Association/Federation. | ||||
(i) degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) of any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess any other qualification specified in first or second schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, and (ii) a postgraduate degree or diploma in Public Health/Preventive and Social Medicine/ Social and Preventive Medicine /Community Medicine/ Community Health or M.D (Medicine/ Microbiology/ Pathology) obtained from any of the Universities or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India. and (i) have at least five years’ public health experience as a Medical Officer, Class II, in the Government. Or: (ii) have at least five years’ public health experience in the Government Undertaking/ Board/ Corporation/ Local Bodies/ Grant in aid institution/ Hospital run by the trust or private or Public Sector Organization on the post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Medical Officer, class II. | ||||
a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Technology obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; have at least five years’ experience in the post not below the rank of Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-II in the Government, Or, have at least five years’ experience in the post not below the rank of Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-II in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat, or have at least five years’ experience in the field of Civil Engineering in local bodies or Government undertaking board or corporation or limited company established under the Companies Act, 2013, in a post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-II in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. | ||||
i. a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering/Technology or Planning obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or any other equivalent qualification recognized as such under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972; and ii. a post graduate degree or post graduate diploma in City Planning/Town Planning/Regional Planning/Traffic and Transportation Planning/ Urban Design/Urban Planning/ Infrastructure Planning/Industrial Planning or Environmental Planning obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or institution approved by All India Council for Technical Education; iii. have at least 5 years separate or combined experience after obtaining the requisite educational qualification specified in sub-clause (b) in the field of City Planning or Town Planning or Regional Planning or Traffic and Transportation Planning or Urban Design or Urban Planning or Infrastructure Planning or industrial Planning or Environmental Planning in Government/ Local Bodies/Government Undertaking Board/ Corporation/ Limited Company established under the Companies Act, 2013. | ||||
a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Technology obtained from any of the Universities, established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act. 1956. | ||||

Have at least three years’ experience in the post not below the rank of Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class III in Government, or in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. Or; have at least three years’ experience in the field of Civil Engineering in local bodies, Government undertaking board, corporation or limited company established under the Companies Act, 2013, in a post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-III in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. | ||||

Or; have at least three years’ experience in the field of Electrical Engineering in local bodies, Government undertaking board, corporation or limited company established under the Companies Act, 2013, in a post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-III in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. | ||||
1. a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act. 1956; and 2. Or; have at least three years’ experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering in local bodies, Government undertaking board, corporation or limited company established under the Companies Act, 2013, in a post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-III in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. | ||||
a bachelor’s degree of any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India, or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be a deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; and (i) a minimum one-year Health Sanitary Inspector’s diploma course from an educational institute recognized as such by the government. or (ii) minimum one-year certificate course of Health Sanitary Inspector from Industrial Training Institute or an educational institute recognized as such by the Government; and (a) have at least three years’ experience in the post not below the rank of sanitary sub inspector, Class-III in Government, or in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat, or (b) have at least three years’ experience in the field of sanitation or public health in Government or local bodies or Government undertaking board or corporation or limited company established under the Companies Act, 2013, in a post which can be considered equivalent to the post not below the rank of Sanitary Sub Inspector, Class-III in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. The rank of Additional Assistant Engineer (Civil), Class-III in any Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat. | ||||

As per the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) advertisement, candidates must meet the Age Limit mentioned in the table below:

Employees who have been in the employment of the Gujarat Government on a permanent or temporary basis for six consecutive months as per the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Service and Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 and whose first appointment is within the age limit specified in the advertised post. | qualification in advertisement.
