GOA PSC Notification 2024 - Educational Qualifications

Essential Educational Qualifications

Desirable

 Junior Surgeon (Directorate of Health Services)

Public Health Department

(i) A recognized Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the
Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the
conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the said Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Post-
graduate degree, failing which post-graduate diploma, in the speciality concerned. (iii) In the case of Diploma
holders, Work in a responsible position connected with the speciality concerned for 2 years after post-
graduation Diploma. (iv) Knowledge of Konkani.

Knowledge of Marathi.

Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine (Goa Medical College)

(i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part II of
the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Act No.
102 of 1956). Holders of qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the
conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Act No. 102
of 1956). (ii) Postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in the speciality concerned from a National Medical Commission (then Medical Council of India) recognized medical college/institution. (iii) At least
three years experience in the concerned speciality as a lecturer or in an equivalent teaching post in a
Medical College/Teaching Institution after the requisite postgraduate degree. (iv) Knowledge of Konkani.

Knowledge of Marathi.

Insurance Medical Officer in ESI Scheme

Labour Department

(i) A Medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part II of the Third
Schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of the
educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should fulfill the conditions stipulated in
Section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 or a degree of Goa Medical School (Medico-
Cirurgiao). (ii) Completion of compulsory rotating internship. (iii) At least 3 years experience in the
Administration of Medical care (Experience is relaxable at the discretion of the G.P.S.C.) (iv) Knowledge of
Konkani. 

(i) Experience in the general medical practice

Assistant Professor in Botany (Government College)

Directorate of Higher Education

(i) Good Academic record with at least 55%* of marks or equivalent grade at Master’s Degree
level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
(ii) National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Level Eligibility Test (SET) shall remain the compulsory requirement
for appointment as Assistant Professor: Provided, however, that candidates who are or have been
awarded Ph. D. Degree in compliance with the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and
procedure for award of Ph. D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the
minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or
equivalent positions in Colleges”. (iii) Knowledge of Konkani.

A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories for
the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic records during direct recruitment to teaching positions. 

(i) Ph. D. or M. Phil. in the relevant subject. (ii) Knowledge of Marathi.
