Documents Required

(I) Candidate must have either the Sikkim Subject Certificate or the Certificate of Identification issued by the competent authority under relevant orders of the State Government.

(II) Category Certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Sikkim.

(III) No Objection Certificate from the Head of Department in case of the employed candidate.

(IV) Should have a Valid Local Employment Card issued by the appropriate authority of the Government of Sikkim.

(V) Marital Status certificate (for female candidate). In case of a married woman candidate, the COI/SSC of the Husband should be enclosed.
(VI) Candidates already in police service in regular establishment under the Government of Sikkim for more than 5 years and having unblemished service should submit a certificate from the Police Department.

Candidates appearing in the PET will have to qualify in each of the following five events. Failure to qualify in any one of the events would mean disqualification for the post of Sub-Inspector. The standards of Physical Efficiency Test prescribed for Sub-Inspectors are as follows:

A circle 7 ft in diameter will be drawn. Two lines at 30° and 60° will be drawn to form the sector in which the shot is to be thrown. Three arcs will then be drawn in this sector at distances stated above from the front edge of the circle. Each candidate will have three chances with a 16 lb weight for males and a 12 lb weight for females, and his/her best performance level A, B, or C will be recorded and marks awarded accordingly. If, while throwing, a candidate touches the ground in front of the circle, it will be treated as a foul. Whether fair or foul, only three chances will be allowed.
