APPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Documents Required

(1) Signature of the candidate on white paper with black ink pen (40-50 kb in jpg format).

(2) Latest/Recent colour passport-size photo (40-100 kb in jpg format). The photograph should be taken against a white background, with the subject facing forward and without headgear and sunglasses.

(3) Self-Attested photocopy of Matriculation Certificate/Marksheet with Date of Birth mentioned, issued by the Board only, will be accepted for proof of age.

(4) Self-Attested Photocopy of APST certificate for APST candidates and Aadhar Card/PRC/EPIC for other applicants.

(5) Self-Attested photocopy of Bachelor’s Degree certificates and Mark Sheets issued by the Assistant Registrar/Registrar/Controller of Examination/Vice-Chancellor of the concerned University to ascertain the degree.

(6) Self-Attested photocopy of Master’s Degree certificates and Mark Sheets issued by the Assistant Registrar/Registrar/Controller of Examination/Vice-Chancellor of the concerned University to ascertain the degree.

(7) Self-Attested NET with JRF/NET/SLET/SET certificate.

(8) Self-Attested photocopy of M.Phil/Ph.D certificates issued in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments.

(9) Certificate from Registrar/Dean (if PhD before July 11, 2009). Format is appended herewith as Annexure-1.

(10) Research Publication(s) published in Peer-Reviewed or UGC-listed Journals.

(11) Teaching/Post-Doctoral Experience.

(12) Awards given by International Organizations/ Government of India/ Government of India-recognized National Level Bodies/ State Government.

(13) Self-Attested Photocopy of APST certificate (to avail age relaxation and reservation under APST category) or ST/SC certificate (to avail age relaxation under ST/SC category) or PRC/Aadhar Card in case of General candidates (Non-APST/ Non-ST/SC).

(14) Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates should submit disability certificate issued by the certifying authority as per Section 57 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, failing which, such candidates shall not claim the reservation under the PwBD category and shall not be entitled to any concession. In the Medical Board, the Speciality of the particular disabilities, for which a certificate is sought, must be represented by a member. Otherwise, the Disability Certificate will not be accepted for claiming a reservation under the PwBD category.

APPSC Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria 2026

For an APPSC Assistant Professor, a candidate must have the following Eligibility Criteria:

APPSC Assistant Professor Educational Qualification 2026

(i) Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University.

(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or those who are or have been awarded a PhD. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission ( Minimum Standard and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET, Provided, the candidates registered for Ph.D. programme before July 11, 2009,
shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye laws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and such Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and such PhD. Candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent position in Universities/Colleges/Institutions, subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
(a) The PhD. The degree of the candidate has been awarded in the regular mode.
(b) The PhD thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
(c) An open PhD viva-voce of the candidate has been conducted.
(d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is a refereed journal.

(e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars/sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any similar
agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

B. The PhD. A degree has been obtained from a Foreign University/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following:
(a) Quacqarelli Symonds (QS)

(b) The Times Higher Education (THE) or
(c) The Academie Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shangai Jiao Tong
University (Shanghai)

(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clause 4.1 of UGC Regulations-2018 (A or B above) candidate who are or have been awarded a PhD. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission Minimum Standards and Procedure for the Award of PhD. Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for the recruitment and appointment of the Assistant Professor or equivalent position in University/College/Institutions.

(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for the Master Programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
